Quality education for a bright future
Learning Begins With Us
Mlekwa School is a charitable community school in Mwanza, Tanzania, dedicated to giving children from vulnerable backgrounds access to quality education. We believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and build a better future, regardless of their circumstances.
Founded in 2020 by university graduate Thomas Ardoph, Mlekwa School began with just three children and a simple belief that education can change lives. Based in Nyegezi, Mwanza, Tanzania’s second-largest city, the school now serves vulnerable children from the surrounding community with hope and purpose.

Curriculum Overview
At Mlekwa School, our curriculum is designed to build strong academic foundations while nurturing the character and confidence of every learner. Guided by the Tanzanian national curriculum, we combine structured learning with child-centered teaching methods that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. From early childhood through primary education, our programs support each child’s intellectual, social, and emotional development — preparing them for lifelong learning and future success.

Early Childhood Education
Our pre-primary program focuses on play-based learning that develops early literacy, numeracy, creativity, and confidence during the most important years of child development.

Literacy & Language
Students build strong reading, writing, and communication skills in both Kiswahili and English, creating a powerful foundation for lifelong learning.

Mathematics & Logic
Through structured lessons and hands-on activities, students develop strong numeracy, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Science & Discovery
Students explore the natural world through observation, simple experiments, and environmental awareness that encourages curiosity and critical thinking.

Character Development
We emphasize discipline, respect, responsibility, and strong moral values that help shape confident and ethical future leaders.
